Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

The system can switch on to CD, TUNER or TAPE mode automatically at a preset time, serving as an alarm to wake you up. â At the preset time, the selected sound source will be played for 30 minutes before it switches to Eco Power standby mode (if no button is being pressed within the time frame.) â CD â playing the first track of the disc. If the disc tray is empty, it will switch to Tuner mode. â TUNER â playing the last tuned radio station. â TAPE â playing the tape.
â Before setting the timer, ensure that the clock is set correctly. â if recording is in progress, the timer function will not be activated. â The volume of the timer will increase gradually to the last tuned volume level. If the last tuned volume level is too low, the set will then increase to a predetermined minimum audible level.
Activating/ Deactivating the timer â Press TIMER ON/OFF on the remote to turn off the timer or turn on to the last setting again.
â If activated, the timer information will display for a few seconds, then the system resumes to the last active source or stays in standby mode. â If deactivated, âOFFâ appears. Helpful Hint: â The system will exit timer setting mode if no button is pressed within 90 seconds.
