2 ENGLISH Introduction With your new Satinelle you can remove unwanted hair quickly, easily and effectively. It is particularly suitable for removing hair from your legs. The rotating discs catch even the shortest hairs (down to 0.5mm) and pull them out by the root. The hairs that grow back are soft and thin. Epilating with this new appliance leaves your skin smooth and hair-free for several weeks. General description (fig. 1)

.

Preparing for use When you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to try it out on an area with only light hair growth to get accustomed to the epilation process. As the hairs are removed by the root, epilation may cause some skin discomfort the first few times you use the epilator. This effect will gradually diminish when you use the appliance more often. Regrowth tends to be softer both in appearance and to the touch. Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease. Do not use any cream before you start epilating. Epilation is easier just after taking a bath or shower. Make sure your skin is completely dry when you start epilating. After epilation, you can apply a mild cream or lotion to help reduce possible skin irritation. It will make your skin feel smoother and will give you a fresh sensation. Do not use lotions that contain alcohol. Using the appliance
.

.

Connecting the appliance 1 Insert the appliance plug into the appliance (fig. 2). 2 Insert the adapter into the wall socket (fig. 3). Epilating the legs 1 HP2840 only: Switch the appliance on by pushing the on/off slide to position I. 2 HP2841 only: Switch the appliance on by pushing the on/off slide to the desired speed setting. Select speed I for areas with little hair growth, for hard-to-reach areas and for areas where bones are located directly beneath the skin, such as knees and ankles (fig. 4). Select speed II for larger areas with stronger hair growth (fig. 5). 3 Stretch the skin with your free hand to make the hairs stand upright (fig. 6). B Stretching the skin properly is particularly important if you have sensitive or delicate skin. 4 Place the epilator perpendicularly onto the skin with the on/off slide pointing in the direction in which you are going to move the appliance (fig. 7). 5 Move the appliance slowly over the skin, against the direction of hair growth (fig. 8). Do not apply any pressure. 6 Switch the appliance off by pushing the on/off slide to position 0 (fig. 9). Cleaning
.

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference. Check if the mains voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance ensure optimal results and a long life for your appliance. Make sure the appliance and adapter do not get wet. Do not use the epilating head on irritated skin or skin with varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with hairs) or wounds without consulting your doctor first. People with a reduced immune response, e.g. during pregnancy, or people who suffer from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency should also consult their doctor first. Using an epilator may cause reddening or irritation of the skin. This is a normal reaction that will quickly disappear. However, you should consult your doctor if the irritation has not disappeared within three days. Regular massages with a massaging glove or loofah may help to prevent ingrowing hairs. To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, threads, cords, brushes, etc. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children. Only use the appliance in combination with the mains cord and adapter supplied. If the mains cord or adapter of this appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced by a cord with adapter of the original type. The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adapter to replace it with another plug, as this will cause a hazardous situation.

For a good and smooth epilating result, it is essential that you clean the epilating head after each use. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use aggressive cleaners, scouring agents, petrol, acetone etc. to clean the plastic housing of the appliance.
