The Philips scope is of excellent quality, longevity and build and had a couple of faults
when it was passed to me. Having the CCT diagrams is a blessing.
I have fixed the problems and also modded the scope to my requirements.

Set Downmix Mode
Downmix This options allows you to set the stereo analog output of your DVD Player. â LT/RT: Select this option if your DVD Player is connected to a Dolby Pro Logic decoder. â Stereo: Select this option when output delivers sound from only the two front speakers. â Virtual Surround: Allows the DVD player to use virtual surround sound effects. D.R.C. (Dynamic Range Control) Analogue sound dynamic range compression. â On: Audio with fully compressed dynamic range. â Off: Audio with uncompressed dynamic range. â Auto: Select âAutoâ adjust the dynamic level automatically according to the disc record.
Digital Output Set the Digital output according to your optional audio equipment connection. â SPDIF Off: Turn off the SPDIF output. â All: If you have connected your DIGITAL AUDIO OUT to a multi-channel decoder/receiver. â PCM Only: Only if your receiver is not capable of decoding multi-channel audio. Helpful Hint: â If DIGITAL OUTPUT is set to âAllâ, all audio settings except MUTE are invalid. LPCM Output If you connect the DVD Player to a PCM compatible receiver via the digital terminals, such as coaxial or optical etc, you may need to adjust âLPCM Outputâ. Discs are recorded at a certain sampling rate. The higher the sampling rate, the better the sound quality. â 48kHz: Playback a disc recorded at the sampling rate of 48kHz. â 96kHz: Playback a disc recorded at the sampling rate of 96kHz. Helpful Hint: â LPCM Output can be selected only when PCM Only is activated. 25
