Whilst this is a photo copy, and some of the pages are a little askew, it was all readable and intact. A real bonus finding an old manual for a classic piece of kit that no other site had.

Thanks to Owner-Manuals.com! This manual was exactly what I needed. As Amana was purchased by Maytag and later by Whirlpool, there was no way to receive it from their websites. I was lucky to find this resource.

Room Monitor
if there are at least 2 handsets registered to the base
This feature allows you to monitor e.g. the baby�s room. Place the handset in the room to be monitored. If the sound level around the microphone of the handset exceeds a certain threshold, the handset can automatically call another handset registered on the same base station.
To activate the room monitoring
To use the room monitoring feature you need to activate it (e.g. on handset 1) and to enter the number of the handset to be called (e.g. handset 2) in the case there are noises in the monitored room. Place the handset which is in room monitoring mode (e.g. handset 1) in the room to be monitored. If this handset detects a sound level greater than a certain threshold, it will automatically initiate an internal call to the selected handset (e.g. handset 2). Press to reach the menu list. Scroll to Personalize and press Scroll to Room Monitor and press SELECT. SELECT.
Enter in the Call To field the number of the handset to be called (e.g. 2) and press OK. The handset 1 displays Room Monitor. All keys on handset 1 are deactivated except the left softkey MENU. Note: During room monitoring, you can use the second handset (handset 2) to answer a call or dial a number.
To deactivate the room monitoring
On the handset beeing in room monitor mode (e.g. handset 1) : Press LSK MENU.
Scroll to Off and press SELECT. The handset returns in idle mode.
